Gauteng cholera cases now at 48, 29 recoveries

The Gauteng Health Department is urging the public to immediately go to the nearest hospital if they notice any cholera symptoms.

JOHANNESBURG - The number of Cholera cases in Hammanskraal is now sitting at 48.

In the last two weeks, 229 patients have been treated at the Jubilee District Hospital for the water-borne disease.

Of this, 23 have been transferred to other hospitals around the Capital City.

Since the outbreak, 24 people have died.

Gauteng accounts for 23 deaths with one death recorded in the Free State.

Out of the 79 patients who were admitted to Jubilee Hospital on Saturday, 29 have since recovered.
