The shutdown followed the discovery by Tshwane officials of E.coli contamination in the municipal water used at the factory.

At a briefing explaining the contingency measures being taken about this, the Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko said food was brought to the facilities so that no patients went hungry.

Infrastructure Development and Technical Services DDG Xolisani Galada said the food and water were tested as part of regular tests conducted by the Department.

The water has been retested with results expected on Friday.
