GBV epidemic | Calls to review SA’s sexual offences law

JOHANNESBURG - In South Africa, a rapist can be cleared of wrongdoing if he believed the victim gave consent.

That's even if the belief is irrational or unreasonable.

Now, the Embrace Project has launched a ground breaking legal bid to change that.

It's being supported by the Centre for Applied Legal Studies.

 

The organisation say their application was unopposed.
