GBV epidemic | Gr 7 Soshanguve pupil raped and strangled

JOHANNESBURG - A grade 7 Soshanguve pupil has been raped and strangled to death.

The Echibini Junior Secondary School pupil was found dead in her own home.

It's believed the perpetrator entered the house while the parents were sleeping.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane has asked for swift police investigations.

"It's horrible terrible news, as a department we're taken aback and we were told about it," he said.

"We have to highlight this scourge of GBV that's taking place in our country, seek justice for our child."
