Global shortage of Type 2 diabetes medicine

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa continues to experience a shortage of a medicine used for type 2 diabetes.

It's believed the shortage is a result of use of the medication for weight loss.

In 2018, diabetes was the second deadliest disease in South Africa, after tuberculosis.
