VANDERBIJLPARK - Public Works and Infrastructure Deputy Minister Sihle Zikalala has placed local businesses at the centre of government's infrastructure drive, saying communities must benefit directly from government projects.
He was speaking at the Gauteng Contractor Development Roadshow, part of a national initiative aimed at helping emerging contractors access funding, mentorship, training and government infrastructure opportunities.
More than 400 small and emerging business owners gathered in Sedibeng, eager to tap into opportunities in South Africa’s expanding infrastructure pipeline.
The message was clear: as the government ramps up infrastructure spending, local businesses want a seat at the table.
The roadshow is part of a nationwide campaign to help contractors grow by connecting them with hands-on training and compliance support.
