JOHANNESBURG - The Transport Department is urging the public to make submissions on the proposed changes to the Road Accident Fund rather than criticise them.
Deputy Transport Minister Lisa Mangcu says so far, there has only been an outcry and negative input.
Some of the proposed changes will see the end of lump-sum payments while payouts to foreign nationals and hit-and-run victims will also be stopped.
"What is amazing so far in what the pushback has been, I have had very little of proposals saying this is how you would rather do it because the fact of the matter is that we can not leave things the way they are," said Mangcu.
