Harare installs prepaid meters to combat water crisis

HARARE - Harare is installing prepaid meters to address its perennial water problems.

The Zimbabwean capital has suffered repeated outbreaks of cholera and other water-borne diseases as a result of contaminated water.

However, the residents' association, the Harare Residents Trust, do not believe it.

Due to poor sanitation, Harare has been prey to cholera outbreaks, the most recent late last year.

Harare has struggled to ensure a reliable supply and to bill users efficiently.
