JOHANNESBURG - Traffic volumes are picking up across the country as holidaymakers and people go home ahead of Christmas Day.
"We are anticipating high traffic volumes, remember this is the very last weekend just before we get into Christmas Day and so our traffic volumes are very high," said Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane.

Maremane is urging motorists to obey the rules of the road.
"Our appeal is compliance with road traffic signs and the rules of the road."
