JOHNNESBURG - Higher Education Minister, Dr Nobuhle Nkabane, has withdrawn the recent appointments to the Sector Education and Training Authority board.
The withdrawals are with immediate effect.
This follows concerns over the appointment of some individuals, including Gwede Mantashe's son, Buyambo and former KZN premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
Nkabane says she took the decision after consulting stakeholders but insists those appointed were qualified.
The department will reopen the nomination process for seven days, and the minister expects to make new appointments shortly.
