JOHANNESBURG - Former acting police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane is no longer facing prosecution in the multimillion-rand 'Blue Lights' corruption case.
This comes after the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) confirmed on Monday that it had provisionally withdrawn the case against Phahlane and his co-accused.

IDAC spokesperson Henry Mamathame said the decision follows careful consideration by the acting Investigating Director, Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara, to peruse certain aspects of the case before re-enrolling it.
"This matter has already been subjected to the Review Panel, and it was found to have been properly authorised and that it falls within the IDAC’s mandate," he said.
Phahlane matter relates to allegations linked to a fraudulent 2016 tender to supply emergency equipment to the South African Police Service.
The contract was worth just over R191 million.
