'I'm staying put in SA' - O'Sullivan

JOHANNESBURG - Forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan said he has no intensions of leaving South Africa, despite threats ordering him to leave.

O’Sullivan said he wrote to the Speaker of parliament, attaching an email from an individual who allegedly told him to pack his bags and go and live somewhere else.

In his response beneath the copied message, O’Sullivan said that despite the incitement for him to depart SA, he will stay put.

His testimony on Thursday was riddled with tension when he came under fire over remarks he had made during an interview on Crime Watch on eNCA.

In that interview, O’Sullivan dismissed the need to appear before Parliament and referred to MPs as crooks.

On Thursday, O’Sullivan left in the middle of his testimony, saying he had a plane to catch after he claimed proceedings went over the agreed time which was disrupted by what he described as unruly behaviour from some MPs.

“Most of the interruptions were either racist or defamatory. I was repeatedly called a spy. I was repeatedly called a thug."

He said he has consulted his counsel and shares his view that he cannot be lawfully compelled to sit while suffering pain to be unlawfully harassed, abused, and racially attacked.
