The six-week trial is due to begin in April next year.

He said, "At the inception of these proceedings, there appeared to be a confusion with regards to the matters that requires determination."

"However, having heard submissions made by council, I adopted the view that the appropriate route to take will be to consider the request by Mr. Mpofu on behalf of reasons for an order I made on the 16th of May 2024, dismissing Mr Zuma's request for recusal of Mr Downer as the Prosecutor in these proceedings..."

"I'm of the view that exceptional circumstances exists to warrant the grant to Mr Mpofu's request."

"Due to other commitments, I can only be able to do so either on the 10th or 11 of September and I request counsel to avail themselves on either one of those dates."

"This matter is therefore adjourned to 11 September 2024 and reasons will be furnished on that day."
