JCS, SAPS thank Tanzanian govt for Bester, Magudumana deportation

JOHANNESBURG - Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola has thanked the Tanzanian government for its unequivocal co-operation in the arrest and deportation of Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana.

He said the high-level South African delegation sent to Tanzania on Monday successfully concluded the deportation process.

Bester is now in the central maximum section of the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre, where he will be watched 24 hours a day.

Magudumana has been remanded in custody in Bloemfontein.

She faces charges of murder, violation of bodies, fraud and aiding and abetting.

Bester will probably face similar charges.

So far three people linked to the couple have been arrested and another is being questioned.
