The jobs emergency | EC workers allege imposter is extorting them

EAST LONDON - The Buffalo City Metro is distancing itself from a scandal involving a project recruiter who has allegedly been extorting money from workers.

It's alleged the perpetrator is working under the pretence of being a Khoisan Traditional Council leader, one of the stakeholders, who works with the municipality with the aim of improving the lives of the poor.

But traditional leaders have vehemently denied this individual as one of their own and are hoping the law will take its course.

Khoi and San leaders in the Buffalo City Metro have described the woman as an imposter and a con artist who is using their cultural identity for political and financial gain. 

The leaders have since contacted the Hawks, who are investigating the allegations.
