Joburg residents lament poor service delivery

Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse admits the city’s finances don't look good and says the metro needs billions of rands to stay afloat.

JOHANNESBURG - As the tussle for political power in Johannesburg continues, residents are worried about the impact on service delivery.

Joburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse concedes the city’s finances aren’t in a favourable position, but the ANC’s Dada Morero insists they’re messy.

Meanwhile, the ANC is determined to unseat Phalatse.

The City of Johannesburg urgently requires a R2-billion loan to keep it afloat.
