Joburg residents urged to store water ahead of shutdown

Johannesburg Water is calling on residents to start storing water at least 48 hours before the planned shutdown and not wait until the day before to do so.

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water is calling on residents to start storing water at least 48 hours before the planned shutdown and not wait until the day before to do so.

It says this could put even more strain on the water network.

The water outage will affect areas including Roodepoort, Randburg, Soweto, Southdale, Ennerdale and Joburg Central.

The outage will start on Tuesday until Friday due to maintenance taking place.

Residents in affected areas have been warned that recovery can take between five and 14 days after the supply has been fully restored.
