JOHANNESBURG - Civic group Joburg Crisis Alliance hopes Saturday's water protest, will motivate authorities to implement lasting solutions.
The demonstration is a response to the poor attitude displayed by the city,
to the persistent problem of dry taps in the country's largest metro.
eNCA reporter Hloni Mtimkulu spoke to Joburg mayor, Dada Morero, about the protest and the motion of no confidence tabled against him. The mayor has already survived a motion of no confidence by the DA against him earlier in the year.

The mayor responded to questions about the protest and said that "It's not a protest. They are bringing a memorandum. It was march. I have received their memorandum. I'm responding to their issues. There's water in coronation, there's water in westbury. The biggest area that I said we still have a challenge is Kensington, and we are working on it and we are giving the community there updates on a regular basis of what we are doing to resolve their challenges."
It was not clear what the mayor intended to do to restore confidence in his leadership.
