Justice for Meyiwa | Station commander refutes assault claims

PRETORIA - A former Silverton police commander has poured cold water on claims that accused 1 Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya was assaulted while detained at his station.

Colonel Karel Swanepoel was giving evidence in a trial-within-a-trial at the High Court in Pretoria.

This as the state is nearing the end of its case to convince the court these confessions should be admitted as evidence in court.

The statements claim a contract was taken out on the soccer star's life by his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo.

Meyiwa was gunned down at Khumalo’s Vosloorus home in October 2014.
