The teacher's body was found along a jogging path in George Lea Park in Sandton last month.

Accused Bafana Mahungela says he stumbled upon the body and denies any involvement in the crime.

His defence lawyer Itumeleng Masako said, “ The deceased passed on, on the 29th [October] then they have to place my client on scene on the 29th but not on any other date and they must come up with either direct or circumstantial evidence to link my client with the murder for now."

"What we have is the accused wearing clothing of the deceased, the accused at some point I saw a picture where he was trying to hide a the blooded hat but really I can assure you that I haven’t seen anything which points to my client."
