CAPE TOWN - The DA's Dianne Kohler Barnard was asked to recuse herself on the first day of Parliament's ad hoc committee meeting.
Kolher Barnard was named during the Madlanga Commission, accused of leaking sensitive information.
The ANC and MK Party requested that the MP recuse herself from the proceedings.
The proceedings got off to a rocky start on Tuesday after political parties accused KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of submitting a supplementary statement and not an original one.
EFF leader Julius Malema was among those who raised objections, questioning the basis of Mkhwanazi’s appearance.
