Krugersdorp residents live in fear of zama zamas

JOHANNESBURG - Krugersdorp residents say they live in fear as illegal miners constantly threaten and harass them.

Resident Steve Ndlovu recalls an encounter he had last week with alleged zama zamas.

This comes after the discovery of 21 bodies believed to be illegal miners at an active mine in the area.

Residents and surrounds say illegal miners have turned the area into a warzone.

One business owner says local infrastructure has been destroyed, forcing businesses to pick up the cost.
