KZN disaster management teams gear up for winter

DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal authorities are warming up to deal with winter disasters.

They are meeting on Thursday to look at how to mitigate the impact of winter on the province.

Flash floods in parts of the province have already claimed five lives.

Some say authorities should be better prepared to respond to and deal with disasters.

Cooperative Governance MEC, Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi, is meeting disaster teams.

They will be on high alert as the winter season approaches.
