DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Thami Ntuli, said South Africa’s history rejects xenophobia.
Ntuli was speaking amid ongoing tensions linked to undocumented foreign nationals in parts of the province.
"We recognise that migration itself is not a crime. History tells us that people have moved across borders in pursuit of opportunity, safety, and a better future.
"However, undocumented migration creates vulnerabilities that are too often exploited by criminal syndicates, human traffickers, unscrupulous employers, and those who undermine lawful economic participation and social stability," he said.
The Premier called for calm and cooperation, and urged residents to resolve concerns through lawful and peaceful discussion rather than violence or hostility.
