KZN Transport MEC intervenes after e-hailing drivers were shot in Durban

Two e-hailing drivers were shot and assaulted, allegedly by taxi operators, in the west of Durban.

Duma says he's committed to ensuring that taxis and e-hailing drivers co-exist peacefully.

He adds that upcoming talks are to secure peace for the sake of e-hailing operators, the taxi industry and the public at large.

KZN wants to avoid a repeat of the deadly scenes at Maponya Mall in Soweto, where a driver was gunned down and set alight.

An unconfirmed number of suspects linked to the shooting have been arrested.
