The late Soli Philander remembered

CAPE TOWN - Tributes continue to pour in for Soli Philander, a giant of South African entertainment.

He died on Wednesday evening, aged 65, after a battle with cancer.

Philander’s versatility shone on stage, television, and radio, where he seamlessly interchanged among the various media.

Entertainer Alistair Izobell said interactions that he has had with Philander was poignant and absolute. 

"When I reflect on him now not only on his contributions to my live but to society, his thoughts his actions and everything he did was absolute. I look back and I go wow what a life well lived in its fullest form.

Basil Appollis, an entertainer said Philander would be remembered for his passion for joy and laughter but also his passion for human rights and justice

Calls are growing for him to receive a state funeral.
