CAPE TOWN - Lobby group Reclaim the City has urged the Western Cape government to start building houses for people in the inner city.
It follows a Constitutional Court ruling that found the sale of the former Tafelberg School site in Sea Point was unlawful.
Activists have been fighting the matter since 2015.

''We just need to see government putting up a brick and start laying a brick for the people's mixed-use housing so that the people can be in the inner city, so that the people can have their own homes and the people can dream about their own homes.
“The reason is that this was a journey and this was a battle. Some of the people may have thought that we are fighting a losing battle. But I knew. I had that hope in me,” Madikane said.
