PRETORIA - Residents in parts of Tshwane are bearing weakening water pressures, as the city battles ongoing supply challenges across multiple systems.
This is due to the significantly low inflow from Rand Water.
Areas like Soshanguve and Mabopane have been affected.
According to the City of Tshwane, the reduced inflow from the water utility has negatively impacted the city's reservoirs’ recovery.

Additionally, several high-priority and sensitive areas are struggling to maintain adequate supply.
"Water’s Hartebeeshoek Reservoir, which supplies water to the city’s reservoirs is unable to keep up with current consumption demands consequently leading to the city not receiving sufficient flow into its network," the city said.
The city has pleaded with customers to reduce their consumption levels to save the city’s distribution network from collapsing.
