Magudumana deportation agreement under scrutiny

JOHANNESBURG - Nandipha Magudumana's legal team says their client's repatriation from Tanzania was an extradition disguised as deportation.

Katz told the court that deportation is a unilateral decision, adding that in this case, it should have been taken by Tanzania alone.

Magudumana and Thabo Bester fled the country after news of his elaborate escape broke.

Meanwhile, Advocate Neil Snellenburg who is representing SAPS and the NPA has told the Bloemfontein high court that there was nothing untoward about the police's conduct when they repatriated Magudumana from Tanzania.
