JOHANNESBURG - Parts of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane will be without water for 4 days

This as Rand Water conducts a planned maintenance programme on its infrastructure.

The maintenance is scheduled from 29 May at 3am and is expected to be concluded on 2 June at 5 pm.

Rand Water says pumping capacity will be reduced at the Eikenhonf, Palmiet Mapleton and Zwarkopjes systems will be reduced.

"The objective of this planned maintenance is to 'increase' capacity and 'improve' plant availability, reliability, and operational efficiency, thereby supporting a more resilient and adaptable water supply network in preparation for the anticipated increase in supply volumes from August 2025,' Rand Water says

Other areas to be impacted by this maintenance include local municipalities in the West Rand, Mogale City, Merafong, Madibeng, Lesedi, Govan Mbeki, Rustenburg, Royal Bafokeng Administration, Victor Khanye, as well as Thembisile Hani, Midvaal and Emfuleni.
