BLOEMFONTEIN - The Mangaung Correctional Centre is under new management following the escape of rapist and murderer Thabo Bester from the facility last May.
Multinational private security company G4S has been replaced by a temporary manager and several officials have also been suspended.
The Department of Correctional Services says they believe the company has lost control of the facility.

They have labelled the entire incident "embarrassing".
Meanwhile, the search continues for the fugitive and his alleged partner Nandipha Magudumana.
