PRETORIA - Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula plans to ask the court to dismiss the corruption and money laundering charges against her.
Her lawyers told the High Court in Pretoria that she will apply for discharge her under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Act.
The former defence minister faces twelve counts of corruption and one of money laundering.
The case involves allegations that defence contractor Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndlhovu paid her R4.5 million in bribes.
On Thursday, the state closed its case, leaving Mapisa-Nqakula to decide whether to present her defence.
Meanwhile, the court has ruled in favour of eNCA and the SABC, allowing the media to broadcast proceedings going forward.
