CAPE TOWN - National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola admits the police service has faced hardships, some prompting the formation of Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee.
But he insists SAPS is not in crisis.
Masemola made these comments while testifying before the committee.

During the Madlang Commission of Inquiry, KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi revealed painted a bleak picture of the state of the SAPS.
In his testimony, Mkhwanazi warned that the country's criminal justice system faces a real risk of total collapse if nothing is being done.
This as he claims has been subject to a "continuous threat as well as sabotage, which has been with us over an extended period".
Masemloa admitted that challenges are both external and internal and efforts to root out those internal issues are underway.
"We are doing our best to correct wrongs that are there by also rooting out and address those who off ramp from the principals. But there is also external challenges from the society that is getting into the organisation and infiltration the organisation,"
