Meyiwa murder trial to continue on Tuesday

JOHANNESBURG  - The murder trial of slain Bafana Bafana Captain, Senzo Meyiwa has been postponed to Tuesday to allow for legal teams to hold a pre-trial conference.

New presiding judge, Ratha Mokgoatlheng says the state may fund the accused legal fees.

Mokgoatlheng takes over from Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela.

He was suspended following allegations he failed to deliver judgments within allocated time frames.

Meyiwa was killed in October 2014.

The murder took place at the Vosloorus home of his then-girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo.

Five men are on trial for the killing.
