Meyiwa Trial | Accused 1 takes the stand

PRETORIA - From claims of assault and torture, to disputed confessions and contested evidence...

Muzi Sibiya’s testimony has cracked open fresh questions in an already tangled case.

Sibiya was the first witness to take the stand in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, as the defence finally opened its case.

What followed was a series of denials – first that he ever confessed, insisting police staged his admission of guilt.

He also maintains he wasn’t in Gauteng or anywhere near the crime scene, despite his bank records suggesting otherwise.
