CENTURION - Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has urged the youth to reject corruption and uphold the values of the Constitution.
She was hosting 30 young women professionals at a lunch in Centurion.
It forms part of the department's broader Youth Month programme.
“Today, we talk about a number of things. We talk about corruption. I don't want to wake up and see your faces on the front pages, being the face of corruption.
“And you know what is painful about some of these things that we read about, guys? It's when you see that somebody has taken so much from service delivery and all they did was go party and have beautiful clothes.
“It's the most heartbreaking thing that somebody did not have tablets in a clinic. Somebody was supposed to have a house provided by the government. Somebody, a child, was supposed to be in a safe school. Money has been stolen.
“How do we build a country with such a mentality? How do we build a society that this constitution says we are a society built on values when we allow these things to happen?"
