KU GOMPO CITY - The MK Party has claimed it has opened a criminal case after ANC members allegedly removed or vandalised its campaign posters in the Eastern Cape.
MKP provincial spokesperson, Nozizwe Otola, has accused the ANC of flouting the electoral code of conduct.
"We have seen some ANC members taking off placards of our councillors in King Williams Town; we've opened a case. They are showing insecurities, so they send members to remove other faces. They don't understand that people don't vote based on how many placards one has on the streets, but for hope, change and someone who can bring life to them,'' Otola said.
The ANC in Eastern Cape has rubbished claims that its members are vandalising election campaign posters.
ANC regional chairperson Princess Faku said MKP is simply seeking attention.
''I think if MKP feels like that, the electoral Act is clear on what they must do. The IEC and Saps must investigate. I think people are seeking attention; they should go to the ground and campaign. We are doing door to door, and you can see the overwhelming support the ANC has here," Faku said.
