It's unlikely their prison escape trial will start any time soon.

In June, charges were dropped against a former G4S employee, while Nandipha Magudumana's father told the court he could not afford a lawyer.

Magudumana is also challenging her extradition from Tanzania, in the Constitutional Court.

At the same time, the family of Katlego Bereng, whose body was planted in Bester's cell as a decoy, is still seeks justice for their son.

Bester is being held at Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria.
He continues serving his life sentence for murder and rape,
while he faces fresh charges for his escape in Mangaung

Nandipha Magudumana who claims to be Bester's customary wife, is said to be the mastermind behind the daring escape.

CCTV technician, Tebogo Lipholo, allegedly switched off the cameras on the night.

Magudumana’s father allegedly hired the car that transported the decoy body, used in Bester's cell.

Tieho Makhotsa is a former control room operator, accused of opening the gates.

Former G4S supervisor, Senohe Matsoara is accused of recruiting the role-players, and supplying the decoy body.

Joel Makheta is a former security guard accused of helping to start the fire in Bester’s cell.

Zimbabwean national Zanda Moyo is accused of helping Magudumana claim Katlego Bereng's body, from a mortuary under false pretences.

At the last case management sitting, Magudumana’s father Zolile Sekeleni, said that he needed a lawyer.

Bester's newest legal team is now expected to come on record.

Meanwhile, Katlego Bereng's family is still searching for answers.

His body was the one set alight in Bester's cell, as part of the elaborate escape.

It's been more than two years since Thabo Bester and Nadipha Magudumana, were extradited from Tanzania.

With another case management sitting expected, we wait to see whether a trial date will finally be set.
