JOHANNESBURG - With the recent spate of truck-related road accidents, moving goods from road to rail is now a matter of urgency if we are to avert the country's road carnage according to the African Rail Industry Association CEO Mesela Nhlapo.
She says it's time to implement the already gazetted policies on the issue.
Nhlapo said, "this is an emergency and I'm calling out to the president that we are in ICU."
"If we don't have rail industry round table to ensure that we reverse what has caused the problems on our roads and move goods to rail, then it is gon aget worse and more people are going to die."
"Let's respect the right to life through implementing the policies that have been gazetted."
