MPs vote for permanent removal of Mkhwebane

JOHANNESBURG - Parliament voted by an overwhelming majority to remove Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane from the office of the Public Protector.

The votes achieved the required two-thirds majority with 318 votes for her removal and 43 against while one MP abstained.

The vote came after a section 194 Committee found her guilty of misconduct and incompetence.
