KRUGERSDORP - Construction for the Mayibuye Clinic in Munsieville is all but concrete slab and pillars, with no sign of completion in site.

Construction at the abandoned site began in 2017 with on R7.8 million of its R60 million spent.
The clinic was promised to residents in 2009 with the aim of bringing healthcare closer to the surrounding Munsieville community. Sixteen years on, the construction site has since been abandoned.

Residents have to travel to the Sterkfontein Hospital to get access to healthcare facilities. Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has previously highlighted the government's intention to change the face of healthcare in the province.
A contractor was appointed for the Mayibuye Clinic in 2015, but was dismissed due to poor planning, a lack of proper oversight and unreliable work ethic.

The construction site now has overgrown weeds and grass almost covering the concrete slab. Security has been placed at the site to prevent vandalism at the property.
