PRETORIA - Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has called on a Nigerian journalist to refrain from being disruptive in a media briefing.
The interaction happened during a question and answer session at a Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration (IMC) briefing.
The journalist called for Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni to apologise for rejecting Nigeria's demands to compensate citizens who fled protests against undocumented migrants in South Africa.
Ntshavheni also asked the Nigierian government to identify "drug dens" in South Africa so that the state could "clean up" the country.
"We are going to appreciate to be told where the drug dens are," Ntshaveni said.
Kubayi said Ntshavehni doesn’t need to issue any apology. The journalist continued to interrupt Kubayi.
"I am going to appeal to you to respect me as a Minister of the Republic of South Africa," Kubayi said to the journalist.
