National shutdown | DPSA says Monday is a normal working day

The Public Service and Administration Department warns Monday is a normal working day. This is despite threats the country will be shut down during a planned protest.

JOHANNESBURG - Monday is a normal working day for all government departments.

That's according to a circular in the Public Service and Administration Department.

It says it has noted arrangements for disruptions are being made by provincial and national departments.

The DPSA commended the precautionary measures, but warns that Monday remains a normal working day.

It's advising all Heads of Departments to ensure employees who are not on leave are at work.

It further warns that the 'no work no pay' rule will apply to staff absent without reason.
