JOHANNESBURG - The National Consumer Commission has issued a safety recall for more than 6,500 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in South Africa.
NCC announces safety recall of 6,525 Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
The recall affects about 5,000 Toyota vehicles and more than 1,600 Lexus vehicles sold nationwide between 2021 and 2025.
The affected Toyota models include the Crown, Land Cruiser 300, and Land Cruiser Prado.

Affected Lexus models include the ES, GX, and LUX variants.
Manufacturers say a software problem in the Parking Assist control unit may cause the rear-view camera to freeze or fail when reversing, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of collision.
Owners are urged to visit authorised Toyota or Lexus dealerships for a free software update or repair.
