JOHANNESBURG - Health Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, is facing growing criticism over his plan to fund the National Health Insurance scheme through what some are calling "unsanctioned tax increases".
The Minister has again failed to present a detailed costing for the NHI, while proposing new taxes including payroll and income surcharges without Treasury's approval.
The DA says the plan risks burdening taxpayers and worsening corruption already plaguing the health sector.
DA spokesperson on Health, Michele Clarke discussed this with eNCA.
