JOHANNESBURG - Tempers flared at a meeting to discuss the future of coal and energy transition in the country.

Energy Minister, Gwede Mantashe, had to try to calm angry Nkangala residents down.

They accuse him of not consulting communities when developing the Just Transition plan.

Their fears, spiraling debt, ghost towns and government paying lip service to their concerns.
