JOHANNESBURG - The National Union of Mineworkers is wrapping up its annual elective conference in Boksburg on Thursday.
Key decisions are expected to be announced including whether the union will continue backing the ANC or shift its support to the SACP, which has already signalled its intent to independently contest the municipal elections next year.
The move has major implications for the ANC ahead of 2026.
Union leaders also gave their reactions to the dismissal of Deputy Trade, Industry and Competition Minister, Andrew Whitfield.
