JOHANNESBURG - Civil action organisation OUTA is urging anyone with solar systems under 100 kW to delay registering their systems for now.
It's telling homeowners and businesses with small systems to hold off on registering their solar or battery systems.
This comes after a meeting between OUTA and Eskom.
The power utility acknowledged several concerns raised by OUTA regarding costly and restrictive registration requirements for low-voltage solar and battery systems.
OUTA argues the rules unfairly burden homeowners and businesses who are trying to reduce their reliance on the grid.
Both parties agreed that Eskom will review the issues and respond in due course.
- Energy analyst and advisor to OUTA, Chris Yelland, discussed this with eNCA.
