Outstanding investigations delay Lusikisiki massacre case

LUSIKISIKI, Eastern Cape - The state is almost ready to commence with the Lusikisiki massacre trial. That’s according to the prosecution team.

Eight men are charged with the murder of eighteen people in Ngobozana Village. They appeared in court together for the first time.

The prosecutor told the Magistrate a few loose ends need to be tied up before the matter can be referred to the regional court for trial.

All the accused face murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition charges related to the incident last September.
