Overstrand firefighters respond to flare-up

PRINGLE BAY, Western Cape - Pringle Bay firefighters were attending to several flare-ups throughout Thursday.

A blaze in the Overstrand Municipality town started on Monday and has destroyed more than 800 hectares of vegetation.

Aerial firefighting was roped in on Wednesday to prevent a mountain fire from spreading to Betty’s Bay.

Firefighters have also been deployed to Buffelsjag and surrounding areas to deal with a vegetation fire there.
